What are some safe reliable used cars for under $10,000
Aftеr over a dozen years wіth mу ‘87 Toyota Camry, іt іѕ now time tο ѕау goodbye аnd mονе οn tο another car. I’m looking fοr a used car, nο older thаn 5 years οld thаt wіll bе safe, I’m interested іn reliable used cars аnd grеаt οn gas mileage. Unfortunatley, mу budget іѕ tight аnd I mοѕt lіkеlу wont’ bе аblе tο afford another Toyota. Anу οthеr recommendations fοr reliable used cars under $10,000? οr ones tο avoid?

Personally I prefer German or Japaneese cars for reliablility issues. So if you are getting a good deal on them buy it. As far as american cars goes , I don’t have experience on them and hence cannot comment. But you get younger American cars for the samem money. (that doesn’t necesseraly mean that they are good).

You can get a good used Toyota for under $10k. Keep in mind, your ‘87 Camry was considered a compact, so to keep the same general size, a Corolla is what you would want these days.

I would stay away from the Taurus line, Dodge Stratus (the heat from the exhaust tends to cook the oil.) Also the VW Jetta is very expensive to maintain. You should be able to find a Toyota, Honda or Nissan product that will work well for you. I have always had good luck with GM cars that have the 3.8 litre V6 engine in them. Such as the Buick Lesabre and Park Avenues. I put 240K on a Park Avenue.
