it should take them …
it should take them about an hour to do the entire inspection, so with the labor rates now days, it should be between 60-90 bux. Their also called Preventative Maintenance (PM) checks.

go to a mechanic …
go to a mechanic and find out if the catalytic converter and O2(oxygen) sensor are ok.

if they are, get the engine shampood and then soon after that change the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs all in one appointment.

when you go to take the emmissions test, fill up your tank with ethanol enriched gasoline (10-30%) ethanol, and then go for a highway drive at high RPMs (go in a lower gear than normal but don’t redline) until the engine is really hot, then take the test right then

“ok you mean like a certified inspection were we check bumper to bumper ,check out the engine bay, under the car, suspension, brakes interior, we go to KFC and buy you a meal, check out the tire pressure, check out if the rims are ok, suck you off, check the lights, make sure that theres oil, check to see if the paint is chipping, check to see if anyone left change in the car, see if the spare tire is there” haha LOL
