Alright, I have a 1997 Mercury Cougar with 122,000 miles on it. It has a broken coil spring on the passenger side, and the struts are leaking. My mechanic says that the two lower ball joints should also be replaced. The repairs would set me back $1200. My mechanic said he knows someone who would buy my car for $375…I looked up the KBB trade-in value which was $720.
just about any car is worth five hundred as long as it has motor and tranny. i would try and get five hundred out of it. I work in a autobody shop and we sell cars for $400 all the time that are completely totaled and can’t be driven.

I have been looking to buy a used car lately. I know my friend has just bought a used car and it is giving problems. It has over 140,000 miles It is a 1996.It is a Saturn 4 door. I don’t think she should keep it and I think she is being overcharged. I know NADA publishes a book about how much is a used car worth.
