To buy old used cars you can save a lot of money. Two months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online police auction.It only cost me $730 and i have not had one problem with it yet . im going to have to get like a 2k car. and i know the miles on it are going to be very high. but does that mean it wont last very long, or just how old it is? or both? i probably wont get one till early next year, but i need it for college. WHAT ARE THE BEST OLD USED CARS TO GET WITH MY PROBLEM
The number of miles already on a vehicle is a critical factor in estimating how much time you’ll get out of it. But it is not as critical as (1) how the car was cared for by the previous owners, or (2) what model vehicle it is. Have someone with knowledge of old used cars, preferably an auto mechanic inspect any used car you’re interested in buying. He (she) will be able to tell whether or not the car has been well cared for, or abused. Certain vehicle makes have a better track record of lasting longer and attaining higher total miles before failing. Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas are well known for racking up higher mileage than most American made models of the same class.

I am talking about those people who say that they “buy old used cars, or trucks, running or not.” I am looking to sell a 1981 Firebird, it needs some work in order to run well, but other wise, its good. I am looking to sell it for at least $3,000. If you know of any number or person that buys old used cars, let me know! Thanks. I am selling, NOT buying.
Place a free ad on craigslist or put it on ebay or there is always carmax.

Who knows which dealerships buy old used cars? I am trying to sell my 91 Toyota 4runner, which is in running condition with 197000 km on it. I called 3 used car dealers. They just did not want to take it. If you know any dealer buying old used cars, please let me know. Thank you.
You will only sell it to a dealer who has a customer looking for it. You are better off to sell it yourself, if a dealer takes it you won’t get much.

You just don’t see old used cars Peugeot in the papers anymore, and there’s almost never any on autotrader or ebay. There are only a few in Hemmings too.
Because we have not been importing these old used cars into the US for over 10 years and you have to get the parts from overseas. It’s very costly and can take up to 2 months to get a part. Most people don’t like Peugeot old used cars well enough to go through all that so they are scrapped. I know because my friend has a 1991 Peugeot.

I am a USA citizen and want to buy a car, it’s one of the old used cars (17 y.o.) from Canada. has anyone ever done this before? what all is involved? Taxes, import fee? any help is welcomed thanks
You should contact a dealer in the Detriot of Buffalo area. They may be able to process this for you for a fee, or refer you to a company that will do it. Check with customs. It can vary by vehicle, and you may need some modifications to the bumper or lights. You may also need an inspection certification from an approved shop in Canada to verify the car is not stolen, has emissions systems, etc. Then you have to get the car listed on state’s title system. It may be too much work to buy old used cars in Canada and too expensive also.
